Does a counsellor tell you what you should do?

It is not the counsellor who tells you what to do. A counsellor's role is to be there for you as a support, help you to develop skills so you will be able to cope on your own in the future. 

People who seek counselling are weak?

Seeking help takes a lot of courage, a counsellor knows the strength needed to be helped.  

Is counselling only for people who have a mental illness?

Counselling is for any individual who wants to seek help. Majority of people are very healthy and do not suffer from a mental illness. 

Does counselling only involve lying on a lounge and falling asleep? 

A Client may sit on a lounge in the office as Counselling is about building rapport with the client and developing strategies in order for them to cope.

Is counselling only for the female gender?

Both males and females can seek counselling

You only need one session then all your problems are solved?
